Restorative Yoga & Yoga Nidra Workshop
TRUE DEEP CONSCIOUS REST
To truly rest is a radical act of self-love in an age where we are bombarded with stimulation. In a Restorative Yoga Session, we place the body in specific, restful poses which are supported by props so that no effort, strain or discomfort is required to stay in these poses. Combined with guided breathing exercises to calm the nervous system, somatic experiencing (a form of mindfulness; exploring the felt sense through pleasant imagery & visualisation), Relaxation techniques & Yoga Nidra & skilfully chosen background music (or peace and quiet), participants experience profound, potent & deep relaxation.
Emma Cole is a Senior Level Yoga Teacher with 20 years practice & has been teaching Dance and movement for 20 years & Yoga for 9 years. Emma is specifically interested in supporting & assisting individuals who are in recovery from PTSD or who live with Complex PTSD. Her workshops may also support those with ME, Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia, Anxiety & Depression. Emma’s workshops are characteristically nurturing, informative, heart-warming & inspiring and are perfect for anyone who is stressed out, burned out, exhausted, grieving, or simply longing for the quiet, gentle conditions that allow for inner space, inner peace and inner calm to emerge
Emma has a trauma-informed, person-centred approach to her teaching which is supported by her experience, research and professional development in the area of ACE & Complex PTSD & her interest in Buddhist Meditation, Mindfulness & Nonviolent Communication. Emma has a Degree in Dance & is a former Professional Dancer for Opera. Her clients base is varied and eclectic and include Brighton and Hove Albion First Football Team, Sussex County Cricket First Team & East Sussex Fire Service.
