Are you ready to make the change??
Complete your details below and one of the team will be in contact….
You’re learning your own yoga style. You’ll be exposed to my style of teaching which blends Hatha, Vinyasa, Restorative, Yin and somatic movement. What this means is you’re free to go out and label your style however you like. You’re not limited.
No. However we will be discussing philosophy and traditions of yoga. It’s important to have an appreciation for the roots of yoga. There is no requirement to teach philosophy of yoga when you’re qualified
Yes. You’re being observed, supported and encouraged throughout the course. You’ll get regular feedback, and it’s important to learn to give constructive teaching feedback to your peers and receive it.
t’s a multiple-choice exam. Due to last one hour. (Unless you have a learning need which requires more time, which will be discussed upon registration.) You’ll be asked questions on anatomy. Everything will have been covered in great detail during the teaching sessions. There are no trick questions. All the answers are in your manual.
You’ll complete a mock exam half way through the course. The result will be private, and a useful revision aid. Everything you need to pass the course is contained within your manual
At no point will you be assessed on your ability to do postures. It’s important to look after your body during the teacher training. This is not an opportunity to master the handstand.
No! The qualification doesn’t expire, it’s yours for life. There are no ongoing costs or licences to purchase.
You will need to purchase insurance each year, which costs approximately £40-60.
You’ll also need three books for the course, which is a small additional expense, however they’re available on Amazon and second-hand online websites. They’re not expensive.
The pass mark is 60% and I’m not anticipating students will fail the multiple-choice exam. If the pass mark isn’t achieved, there will be the opportunity to re sit a variation of the paper on a later date
You’ll be given the assessment criteria on weekend 2. You’ll know exactly what is expected from you for over 6 months. By the time assessment day arrives, you’ll be very well prepared, and looking forward to showing off your teaching skills.
You’ll be teaching your own sequence for 30 minutes. The sequence will include some lying down, sitting and standing. You’re not required to teach anything ‘advanced.’ You’ll be teaching a small group (3/4 people, one of whom will be your friend, there to support you on the day).
You’ll be given the result of the assessment on the day.
The coursework deadlines have been planned to help you manage workflow and maintain a comfortable pace of learning. It’s in your best interest to meet the suggested deadlines.
However, life happens and if worksheets are not completed at the suggested time, it’s ok. All coursework needs to be completed to a satisfactory standard to complete the course. If the workload is unmanageable, please talk to me.
You don’t need to learn Sanskrit to pass this course, or indeed be a good teacher.
During the course I will introduce some Sanskrit, because I find it a beautiful language, and some yoga books include Sanskrit, so a bit of familiarity can support on going learning. At no point will you be assessed on your knowledge of Sanskrit
What is important; it to learn to talk with confidence. I don’t mind if you say haaaarmstring, not hamstring, just say it with some belief in yourself.
We’ve designed this course carefully to support students on the journey to becoming a teacher, and that’s best achieved with 100% attendance. However, sometimes life happens, which is where recordings can assist.
100% of the students I’ve trained, passed all their assessments first time and I can introduce you to teachers I’ve trained.
Take your time! Relax… do some yoga and think about what the practice has done for you. Wouldn’t it be amazing to understand how yoga affects your physical body, your mind and your breath? To take what you’ll learn on the course and apply it first to yourself. And from that place of embodiment, you’ll have what you need to teach.
Please give this course careful consideration. It’s a significant investment of time and money.
We recommend you research various teacher training courses, compare and contrast what’s on offer and what’s going to lead to the most enjoyable experience.
