Massage Therapy Hove

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage is a type of massage therapy that focuses on realigning the deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense and contracted areas such as stiff necks, lower back tightness and sore shoulders. Deep tissue massage works by physically breaking down muscle adhesions (knots in laymans terms!) in muscles to relieve pain and restore normal movement. To do this, the massage therapist often uses direct deep pressure or friction applied across the grain of the muscle.

Aromatherapy massage

Aromatherapy massage is the art of providing a deep, physical treatment complemented by the use of potent plant oils which work on mind, body and spirit. It is a truly holistic treatment using tailored aromatherapy blends to suit the individuals needs. The gradual absorption of the powerful oils increases the longevity of the therapeutic process long after the treatment has occurred. Whether working with skin issues, stress, headaches, migraines, muscular pain or emotional distress, aromatherapy is far-reaching and time-tested in its efficacy.

Medical massage

Medical massage aims to get you free from pain in 1-6 treatments using the latest cutting edge techniques such as myofascial release, trigger point therapy, stretching, soft tissue release and the best of eastern and western massage. Medical massage can help free you from acute and chronic pain conditions such as neurological pain and muscular strain, whiplash, thoracic outlet syndrome lumbar/ herniated disc problems, scoliosis, piriformis syndrome and associated sciatic pain. Frozen shoulder and rotator cuff injuries may take longer to release as a slow, steady approach is far more likely to be successful.

Reflexology

Reflexology is a holistic therapy which treats the body as a whole as opposed to just the symptoms by stimulating acupressure points on the feet. These points are believed to correlate to all organs, glands and systems within the body. Stimulating and massaging them can help to release blockages and restore energy flow and circulation throughout the body. This in turn helps to create balance and stimulate the bodys own healing abilities. Reflexology is an ideal treatment which may help to reduce pain, regulate hormones, improve blood flow and aid post operative recovery. It helps to relax, improve the mood, relieve tension and improve a sense of well being so can be beneficial to people suffering from stress, anxiety and depression or purely to enhance relaxation and aid sleep.
