For people who are new to yoga but also for people new to this style of yoga, our Kundalini yoga online beginners’ course is ideal to establish the basics and principles of this holistic yoga practice. Different from some other yoga styles, Kundalini yoga utilises physical and mental practices to release potential energy and creativity. This six session online course allows you to undertake the sessions at your own pace, whether that is once a day or once a week, to give you a good grounding in the style.
Called ‘the Yoga of Awareness’, the name Kundalini actually comes from the Sanskrit word for ‘coiled serpent’ which is a metaphor for the potential energy that this form of yoga is intended to release. The beginners course helps you establish the ‘Awareness’ of your mind and body needed to release this potential using breathwork, dynamic postures, meditation and deep relaxation. Because Kundalina yoga is intended to be transformative and what you learn in the practice can have a profound effect on your daily life, the beginners’ course gives you an excellent grounding in the important principles of this style.
No special equipment is needed to practice this form of yoga so it’s ideal to do at home and is suitable for people starting yoga for the first time. As this style requires practitioners to hold postures longer than with other styles, you get the opportunity to really relax into those postures and get the most out of them. Even people experienced in other forms of yoga will benefit from this beginners course in Kundalini yoga as it incorporates elements such as sacred mantra, body locks and creative meditations woven in with the practices more typically seen in other forms of yoga to make it a unique experience.
Kundalini yoga classes are typically themed so this beginners’ course is no different. Each class in the series will not only allow you to learn the basics of Kundalini yoga and experience a deeper sense of self-awareness than when you started, it will also allow you to deepen your knowledge on individual aspects of the practice and leave you feeling energised with less stress.
